FG, States to partner on solid mineral development

Chairman, Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Mr. Abdulaziz Yari

State governments have resolved to partner with the Federal Government and other stakeholders to ensure the development of solid mineral sector in the country.

This was one of the decisions taken at the first meeting of the Nigeria Governors Forum for the year held on Wednesday evening at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The forum’s Chairman, Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State read the meeting’s four-point communique to State House correspondents in the early hours of Thursday. He did not entertain questions after reading the communique.

“After a comprehensive presentation made by the Minister of State, Solid Minerals Development, Abubakar Bwari, members resolved to partner with the ministry and other key stakeholders to create an enabling environment for the sector to act as catalyst for job creation, revenue generation, industrialisation, environmental sustainability and inclusion,” the governor said.
