Didier Drogba-but I have not yet announced my retirement


Chelsea and Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba has agreed in principle to retire from football and work within a coaching capacity in his old club.


According to French newspaper L’Equipe reports that the hitman who plays for Montreal Impact in the MLS would retire to help Chelsea in a critical time.

Drogba has however tweeted: “Lovely to receive these messages but I have not yet announced my retirement & am still in discussion with @impactmontreal about my future.”

Drogba left Stamford Bridge for a second time last summer and spent the last six months of his career at Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact.

Drogba was in attendance alongside interim manager Guus Hiddink when Chelsea beat Sunderland 3-1 last month.The Ivorian won 14 major honours – including the Uefa Champions League – in nine years across two different spells with the reigning Premier League champions. #naijaeyezblog
