In Australia Woman forgot baby in car amid rising temperature

A 14-month-old boy was rescued from a hot car in western Australia after his mother "forgot" that the child as still in the vehicle.
The child was crying and sweating when he was rescued but did not need to be taken to hospital.

The boy was left in the car in north-east Perth on Monday morning in a shopping centre car park. The incident took place at 9.30am where the temperature was 96.8F (36C) at the time.
Another family soon arrived at the scene to provide help to the parent and baby. The mother did not face criminal charges, Perth police said.

“It was established the parent had genuinely forgotten the child was left in the vehicle at the time and no charges will be preferred by police,” a police spokeswoman said.

"I am absolutely appalled at how people on social media are so quick to judge a situation that they know absolutely nothing about," he said. Social media were quick to criticize but a friend defended her saying such would never happen again.

"She already feels horrible for what she had done and now people are making it even worse."
Under Western Australia law, leaving a child unsupervised in a car can lead to the maximum punishment of a $36,000 (£17,500) fine and three years' imprisonment.
