AKPABIO--DON’T BLAME APC FOR NIGERIA’S CURRENT HARDSHIP

The Senate Minority Leader and member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Godswill Akpabio has appealed to Nigerians not to blame the current economy woes on the All Progressives Congress, APC, led government.

Addressing journalists in Arochukwu, Abia State, Akpabio said the country’s current economic challenge was a global phenomenon orchestrated by the steady fall in oil prices.

School Proprietor Sentenced to 10 Years for Raping Pupil

Ado Ekiti — An Ado Ekiti High Court yesterday sentenced the owner of God's Grace Nursery and Primary School, Mr Babatunde Ibitoye, to 10 years in prison for raping a 10-year old pupil of his school.

Ibitoye, whose school is located at Fayemi Market, Agric Olope area, Ajilosun in Ado Ekiti, committed the offence on June 10, 2013.

Wike says Rivers Government will immortalise slain corper, increases monthly allowance

Rivers State Government will immortalise Mr Samuel Okonta, the Corps Member who lost his life during the rerun legislative elections in the State, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has announced.
He also declared that the State Government will provide all necessary assistance for the police to investigate the killing of the corps member, with a view to identifying those responsible and prosecuting them.

Student Who Exposed Korede Bello’s Absence from School Allegedly ‘Failed’ by the Institute

In January, Mavin artiste Korede Bello was accused staying away from school without permission by his lecturers at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) in Ogba, Lagos after they threatened to resign if the singer took semester exams. The 18-year-old singer, however, later apologised during a meeting with the school’s management. Now there are reports that the student who exposed Korede’s truancy has been failed by the institute for incriminating the Mavin singer.

20-year-old girl allegedly bites neighbour to death

A 20-year-old girl identified as Ogbonna Onyinyechi who allegedly bit one Engineer Pius Ezema to death at 15, Ondo Street, Okobaba in Ebute Metta area of Lagos state, has revealed what led to the incident.

The suspect who has been in detention at Denton Police Station since the incident which occurred on March 12, said Pius quarrelled with her for singing loudly near his window in the ‘face-me-I -face-you’ apartment where they lived as next door neighbours.

Pregnant 19-year-old girl stabs boyfriend to death for posting another girl's picture on Facebook

Kelvin Mugalla Ikatwa, 25, a university student and a footballer, was allegedly stabbed by Sheila Atema, 19, with a knife at her house in Kangemi Trench, Kenya, following a quarrel which started after Mugalla uploaded a picture of a different woman on his Facebook wall. The girl has since been arrested.
