BREAKING: FG’s to charge VAT on online transactions 2020






Effective from January 2020, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced that it will begin to impose Value-Added tax (VAT) on online transactions, both domestic and international.

The Executive Chairman of FIRS, Babatunde Fowler made this disclosure at the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) technical workshop.

The commencement date of the VAT charges on online transactions, according to Fowler, would be subject to the government’s approval.

Recently, I had the opportunity to experience being by myself for a whole month. My son and my husband went to Africa for a drumming camp and I stayed home with my youngest daughter. She is 17 years old, independent and enjoying her time off between finishing high school and starting acting school, so I was mostly by myself, but I did not have a boring moment.

The last time Gal was away was over 12 years ago, when he went to be with his mother on her last hours and I stayed home with 3 kids. My youngest was 5 years old and I was not by myself at all.

Female Corps member nabbed with 9kg of Indian hemp in Sokoto


On Friday a female youth corps member was arrested by the Sokoto State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, with 9 kilogrammes of Indian hemp.

The unnamed corps member who is currently serving in Gumi Local Government Area of Zamfara state was arrested along Sokoto-Gusau road in Sokoto State.

N5Billion Recovered From Yemi Adeola, Sterling Bank MD

The Economic and financial crimes commission has successfully recovered a sum of N5 billion naira from embattled Sterling bank CEO, Yemi Adeola who was arrested on Thursday.

Investigations reveal that a total sum of $88 million was traced to a hidden account managed by Adeola.The money was transferred to him from Fidelity Bank.The $88 million found at Sterling Bank is separate from the $115m given to Fidelity Bank by the Diezani Alison-Madueke.
